The grade tells you how the device looks. Every grade is fully tested, fully functional, and carries the same 12-month warranty.

Premium — “Like New”

Battery 80–100%. Pristine screen, no scratches. Flawless case — invisible from 12 inches. Keyboard like new, zero wear. No dents, chips, or imperfections. Best for gifts and professionals.

Excellent — “Near Perfect”

Battery 70–100%. Micro-scratches on screen invisible when on. Light case marks invisible from 12 inches. Very minor keyboard use, faint hairlines only. Best for office and students.

Good — “Daily User”

Battery 70–100%. Light screen scratches visible when off. Regular case wear visible from 12 inches. Visible “shine” on keys, 100% legible. Moderate scuffs, small dings. Best for budget buyers.

Acceptable — “Economy”

Battery 70–100%. Screen may have micro-scratches, no impact when on. Heavy case wear, visible scratches. Heavy keyboard shine, all keys legible. Deep scratches, visible dents. Best for kids and heavy-duty use.

What do the condition grades mean?
Every product listing states the condition grade clearly. Premium — like-new, no visible wear, 80–100% battery. Excellent — minor cosmetic marks, 70–100% battery. Good — visible wear, 70–100% battery. Acceptable — heavy cosmetic wear, 70–100% battery. The grade describes appearance only — all grades pass the same 20-point inspection.
Is the warranty the same for all grades?
Yes. Premium, Excellent, Good, and Acceptable all carry the same 12-month hardware warranty. Battery and charger: 1 month. The grade only affects cosmetic condition, not warranty coverage.
How do you test battery health?
We use battery diagnostic software to compare the battery’s current full-charge capacity against the manufacturer’s original design capacity, giving a health percentage. We also record the cycle count. Any battery below 70% is replaced before the device is listed. Premium grade requires 80–100% battery health.
What does “invisible from 12 inches” mean?
It’s our cosmetic assessment standard. If a mark or scratch isn’t visible from a distance of 12 inches (about 30cm) under normal lighting, it meets the threshold for Premium or Excellent grade. This is how we keep grading consistent across every device.
Are all HDDs replaced with SSDs?
Yes. Regardless of grade, every HDD is upgraded to an SSD. This means faster boot times, faster file access, and better reliability. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and fully updated on every device.
Is data from the previous owner removed?
Yes. We use a software-based overwrite process aligned with NIST 800-88 guidelines before any operating system is installed. In most cases, we install a brand-new SSD, eliminating any risk of data carryover entirely.
Can I see the grade before I buy?
Yes. Every product listing on our website states the condition grade clearly. You can also visit our showroom at Unit 25, 16 Loyalty Road, North Rocks NSW 2151 (Mon–Sun 10am–6pm) to see devices in person before purchasing.
What if I’m not happy with the grade I received?
CLS offers a 30-day change-of-mind return policy. If the device doesn’t match the grade described in the listing, contact us — we’ll make it right. Customer pays return postage for change-of-mind returns; warranty claims are covered both ways by CLS.
