What happens at every stage.
Stage names and content match the published refurbishment process. Same checks every time.
What we check on intake
- Physical damage: dents, cracks, scratches across chassis, screen, and hinges.
- Core components diagnostics: processor, memory (RAM), hard drive or SSD, motherboard performance under load.
- External features: screen response, keyboard, touchpad, every port, and battery.
- Issue triage: faults documented and tagged for Stage 03 hardware repairs.
Bringing it back to presentable condition
- Exterior & interior cleaning: dust and debris removed from chassis, keyboard, vents, and internal components.
- Surface polishing: visible wear minimised on lid, palm rest, and bezel.
- Cosmetic part replacement: keycaps, bezels, or outer casings replaced when condition warrants — matched to the device's grade.
Faulty or outdated parts replaced with quality alternatives
- Storage upgrades: mechanical hard drives replaced with SSDs for boot speed and reliability.
- RAM upgrades: memory upgraded where it extends usable life or improves multitasking.
- Battery work: new battery installed if existing fails performance threshold, or existing verified.
- Component repairs: screens, keyboards, and other hardware repaired or replaced as needed.
Fresh OS install on a clean disk
- Secure disk wipe: existing storage wiped before re-imaging — no previous owner data.
- Genuine licensed OS: Windows 10 or 11 installed and activated. The version is specified on each listing.
- Security updates: latest Windows patches applied to address known vulnerabilities.
- Software cleanup: unnecessary trial software removed; system checked free of malware and viruses.
- Drivers & performance: essential drivers installed; system performance tested post-install.
Final functional checks before listing
- Hardware stress tests: stability and performance under sustained heavy workloads.
- Connectivity testing: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and every USB port verified.
- Function verification: all hardware and software functions confirmed working end-to-end.
- Pass-only listing: devices that don't pass QA return to Stage 03 or are recycled via sister business ITC Asset Management.

4 ISO certifications behind the process.
The refurbishment process operates inside a documented management system covering quality, environment, safety, and information security.
Quality Management System
Documented procedures, customer focus, and continuous improvement across the refurbishment process.
Environmental Management
Responsible handling of e-waste, recyclables, and consumables generated during refurbishment.
OH&S Management
Workplace safety standards for the workshop and across the supply chain.
Information Security
Information security management for customer and device data handling.
Three reasons our customers choose refurbished.
Cost savings, reliable hardware, and a more sustainable choice — the three benefits customers tell us drive their decision.
Cost savings
Refurbished business-grade hardware (Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, Lenovo ThinkPad) at significantly lower prices than brand new — same warranty and same QA process behind every device.
Reliable & thoroughly tested
Every device passes the same 6-stage process before listing — inspection, repairs, fresh OS, QA stress tests. Backed by a 6-12 month warranty (as specified on the listing).
More sustainable choice
Refurbishing extends the working life of business-grade computers and reduces electronic waste. Devices that don't pass QA flow to sister business ITC Asset Management for compliant e-waste recycling under ISO 14001.

Questions about the process.
What does the 6-stage refurbishment process include?
Every device passes through six stages in order: (1) Inspection & Testing — physical and diagnostic checks; (2) Cleaning & Cosmetic Restoration — exterior, interior, surface polish, cosmetic part replacement; (3) Hardware Repairs & Replacements — SSD/RAM upgrades, batteries, screens, keyboards; (4) Software Updates & Optimization — disk wipe, fresh Windows install, security updates, drivers; (5) Quality Assurance Testing — stress tests, connectivity, full function check; (6) Packaging & Final Inspection — final check, accessories, secure packaging.
What operating system is installed?
A genuine, licensed Windows operating system — either Windows 10 or Windows 11, depending on the device's hardware support and the specific listing. The OS version is specified on each product listing. All security updates are applied at install time.
Are batteries always replaced?
Not always. In Stage 03 (Hardware Repairs), the existing battery is performance-tested. If it meets our performance standards, it stays. If it doesn't, a new battery is installed or the device is removed from sale. See grading explained for battery condition by grade.
What's the warranty period?
Every refurbished device is backed by a 6 to 12-month warranty, as specified on the product listing. Laptops, desktops, and monitors typically carry 12 months. Accessories and batteries may carry shorter periods — always check the listing for the exact term. Full warranty details.
Is my data safe? What happens to the previous owner's data?
In Stage 04 (Software Updates), the existing storage is wiped before a fresh OS install. No previous owner data remains on devices when they ship. For commercial customers needing certified secure data destruction on their own fleets, sister business ITC Asset Management handles NIST 800-88 aligned data wipes with audit certificates.
What brands of devices do you refurbish?
Primarily business-grade hardware: Dell Latitude laptops + OptiPlex desktops, HP EliteBook/ProBook + EliteDesk, and Lenovo ThinkPad + ThinkCentre. We also refurbish Apple, Acer, Asus, Microsoft Surface, Toshiba, and MSI where available. Business-grade hardware is preferred because it's built for higher-cycle use and parts are more available.
What if a device doesn't pass QA?
Devices that fail Stage 05 (QA Testing) do not get listed for sale. They either return to Stage 03 for further repair or, if economically unrepairable, are removed from sale and processed for compliant e-waste recycling via ITC Asset Management.
Where does the refurbishment happen?
All refurbishment is done in-house at our Sydney workshop: Unit 25, 16 Loyalty Road, North Rocks NSW 2151 — co-located with our retail showroom. The workshop and showroom share the same address; the team you call on 1300 724 968 are the same people who handle the refurbishment.
